Sophia Lopez
Hi! My name is Sophia Lopez, and I joined BATS in hopes of creating meaningful projects and connections in Clark County that directly relate to a career in urban and community development. As a BATS leader, I enjoyed the opportunity to record PSAs on WYSO Radio, collaborating with other members to create an announcement in Spanish, English, and Tagalog. Outside of BATS, I am a student at Cedarville High School involved in cross country, student council, Envirothon, and pit orchestra, where I get to exercise my favorite art form, playing the violin. Outside of school, I direct The Champion City Spelling Bee, Springfield’s first community-wide spelling bee, and serve on the Springfield Symphony Youth Advisory Board, among other community involvements. Each of my skills from these commitments applies to BATS, making my membership a meaningful way to tie specific abilities together in a manner that improves our community from several angles.
